TikTok Shop marks one year in Ireland today, transforming how Irish businesses connect with customers and driving growth in local commerce.

Since launching in December 2024, Irish sellers on the platform have grown by triple digits. Businesses across the country are reaching new customers and driving sales growth through shoppable videos and LIVE shopping, turning their ideas into income by engaging Ireland's 2.4 million monthly TikTok users.

TikTok Shop enables businesses across the country, including entrepreneurs, SMEs and large retailers of all types, to grow locally and beyond.

"In just one year, Irish businesses have shown what makes TikTok Shop special. It's the place personality and products meet, where a small business in Galway can reach customers across Ireland in real-time, and where shopping feels personal again," said Katey McElroy, Account Lead at TikTok Shop Ireland. "The growth we've seen from Irish sellers has been remarkable, and we're only getting started."

Powering the local economy

Central to TikTok Shop's first year in Ireland was its partnership with Guaranteed Irish, which helped members reach new audiences and scale. Throughout 2025, TikTok Shop and Guaranteed Irish ran training sessions and provided hands-on support to businesses navigating the platform, with 100s of attendees at a number of in-person and online events across the year. Guaranteed Irish members receive dedicated account management by the TikTok Shop team and access exclusive opportunities through the partnership.

Building on this success, TikTok Shop and Guaranteed Irish are renewing their partnership for 2026, with plans to expand training, resources and opportunities for Irish businesses nationwide.

"TikTok Shop has given our members a powerful new way to reach Irish consumers, particularly shoppers who are passionate about supporting local businesses,” said Bríd O’Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish. ‘’For many of our SMEs, this platform is not just another sales channel, it’s an opportunity to build brand awareness, grow communities, and compete on a level playing field with larger global retailers.’"

The platform has proven particularly valuable for businesses outside Ireland's major cities. TikTok Shop's digital-first approach means a business in Galway has the same opportunity to reach Irish shoppers as one in Dublin.

The consumer appetite to support local businesses continues to build, with #ShopIrish posts doubling on the platform and #Claddagh content growing by 200% on TikTok over the past year, underscoring a strong demand for Irish-made products.

Capitalising on that demand, popular jewellery brand Betty and Biddy saw a 388% sales increase quarter-to-date, with its Claddagh collection going viral.

“The difference TikTok Shop has made to our brand is unmatched and it has quickly become one of our most impactful growth channels for our brand. We have seen a significant uplift in sales, a sharp increase in customer engagement and a major uplift in brand awareness as more consumers discover our uniquely irish products across the country." said Fiona Fitzsimons, CEO of Betty & Biddy.

A year of success: From Ploughing to Black Friday

Black Friday marked TikTok Shop Ireland's first participation in the world's biggest shopping event. Irish businesses embraced the moment, driving an 82% increase in shoppable video content and doubling LIVE shopping sessions during the week. Consumers discovered local brands through real-time demos, supported Irish sellers without leaving the app and delivered a 190% sales uplift.

From the National Ploughing Championships to Black Friday, TikTok Shop showed up in style. Its first appearance at the Ploughing saw Irish sellers host LIVE shopping sessions from Tigh TikTok, reaching over 225,000 visitors and a 30% increase in sales during ploughing, showing how digital commerce can work for any business, from wellness products to fashion boutiques. The activation also featured a farm safety campaign in partnership with Agri Aware.

Looking ahead

As TikTok Shop enters its second year, the focus remains on supporting more small Irish businesses to grow and build on the platform. The focus is also on providing the tools, training, and community that Irish sellers need to thrive.

In 2026, TikTok Shop will further expand its categories across fashion, home and living brands, broadening choice for consumers.

"This is just the beginning," said McElroy. "The Irish businesses on TikTok Shop have shown incredible creativity and entrepreneurship in year one. We're excited to see what they'll achieve in year two."
