Covid-19: 48 Additional deaths And 1,254 New Cases

The Department of Health has been notified of 48 deaths related to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

45 of those deaths occurred this month.

The median age of those who died is 82, with the age range between 30 and 99.

Meanwhile, the Department has also been notified of 1,254 new cases of the virus.

587 of today's cases are identified in men while 658 are in women.

Most people -54% - are under 45 years of age.

The median age is 42 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there is 437 new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 146 in Cork, 76 in Meath, 69 in Wexford and 62 in Kildare.

The remaining 464 cases are spread across all other counties

Meanwhile, there have been 51 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 1,518 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 211 of whom are in intensive care.

The 14 Day incidence rate has dropped to 574.7 per 100,000 population.
