Love Island's Michael is happy for Amber & Greg

Last night's episode of Love Island saw Amber and Greg crowned the winners of this year's series.

Amber's former flame Michael says he's so happy for them, "just to see that smile on her face is unbelievable."

The firefighter joins co-star Lucie Donlan to talk about the winning couple on Lorraine today.

He tells Christine Lampard, "I'm actually so happy for them, just to see the excitement in Amber's face..."

"I was so happy for her just to see that smile on her face is unbelievable."

Michael goes on, "They didn't expect that but I'm so happy for them at the same time..."

"Amber's been on such a journey it's what she needed at that time it was great."

"It's surreal, but I'm really happy for her, she really did deserve it, and Greg's a lovely guy."

Lucie was shocked that they won

The surfer says she was shocked to see Greg and Amber win, "I was shocked, really shocked..."

She explains why, "Obviously I thought Tommy and Molly were going to win it because they are girlfriend and boyfriend."

Despite the fact that Amber and Greg are not boyfriend and girlfriend, Lucie still feels Amber deserved the win.

"But I feel like Amber really deserved it and I feel like Tommy and Molly, they’ve got each other…"

Lucie says of Tommy and Molly-Mae's relationship, "they found each other, which is really nice."

"I feel like they kind of won themselves. Amber had such a mad journey in there, she really deserved it."

Amber and Michael

The pair had been coupled up at the start of the series and they were actually really good together.

However, their relationship fell apart during the Casa Amor shock twist when Michael's head was turned by new girl Joanna.

While Amber was staying loyal to Michael, he was cracking on with Joanna.

When she arrived back to see Michael had re-coupled, she was visibly distraught.

However, when Joanna was voted off the show by her fellow islanders, Michael decided to stay on without her.

Understandably, she was fuming with him and even called him a, "fu**ing snake."

It wasn't long before the firefighter revealed he still had feelings for Amber.

However, at this point it was too late because Amber was falling for new islander Greg.

She chose to re-couple with him over Michael and shortly after this, Michael was sent home.
