The Embassy had not been open since February

The Irish Embassy In Ukraine has welcomed its staff back for the first time since the Russian invasion.

Staff had been working remotely since February, but will return to the Embassy building in Kyiv.

Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney said:

"As the Embassy resumes its operations on the ground in Kyiv, the team’s key priority will be renewing and building their network of contacts with Ukrainian government officials.

"[This will] better inform Ireland’s provision of support and assistance to the government and people of Ukraine."

The Department has said it will continue to closely monitor the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
