Covid-19: 17 Additional Deaths And 349 New Cases

The Department of Health has reported 17 additional deaths, associated with Covid-19.

They were aged between 55 and 102 years old.

The Department have also confirmed 349 new cases of the virus.

7 in 10 cases of those cases are identified in people under the age of 45, with the median age being 33 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there are 156 new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 23 new cases in Meath, 19 in Donegal, 15 in Louth and 14 in Kildare.

The remaining 186 cases are spread across all other counties.

Meanwhile, there have been 36 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 355 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 88 of whom are in intensive care.

As of last Saturday, 164,345 people have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
