Covid-19: 10 Additional Deaths And 646 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed 10 additional death linked to Covid-19.

4 deaths occurred this month, 1 happened in February, 1 in January and 4 are under investigation.

As of midnight last night, there have been 646 confirmed new cases of the virus in Ireland.

Almost three quarters of today's cases were identified in people under the age of 45 years old.

The median age is 30 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there are 243 new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 80 new cases in Kildare, 45 in Meath, 35 in Galway and 34 in Offaly.

The remaining 209 cases are spread across all other counties.

Meanwhile, there have been 16 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 344 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 87 of whom are in intensive care.

As of Tuesday, 157,072 people have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
