Love Island applications 2021

Love Island are reportedly accepting applications from gay and straight singletons for the 2021 series of the show.

Their new partnership with Tinder sees them targeting all profiles.

A source told The Daily Star, 'ITV and Love Island teamed up with Tinder earlier this year to find a new batch of islanders.'

'They have been placing the ads strategically inside the app so you have to swipe left or right.'

'The ads have been showing up on both male and female gay accounts as well as on those of straight people.'

When asked if they're accepting applications from all sexual orientations, ITV released the following statement to The Daily Star:

'Our only stipulation for applicants on Love Island is that they are over 18, single and looking for love.'

That sounds promising!

Previous discussions

The topic of same sex couples on Love Island has been brought up numerous times in the past.

However, execs explained that it would cause, 'logistical difficulties.'

According to The Daily Star, executive producer Richard Cowles explained, 'It is not impossible and it is not something that we shy away from... but there is a logistical element which makes it difficult.'

Show voice over, Iain Stirling was approached on the matter during a chat on Loose Women last year.

He explained, "You need people to be coupled up for one person to be out for them to leave."

"So you need a ratio in some way but I'm sure there's a way of working around that."
