Kevin Hart has said he's 'over' the whole Oscar controversy and will not act as host for the ceremony this year.

Kevin Hart took time out to appear on 'Good Morning America' and to set the record straight on the Oscar controversy.

'I am done with it. It gets no more energy. For the last time, I am done addressing this.'

'There is no more conversation about it. I'm done with it, I am over it.'

He went on, 'I have explained how I evolved. I'm not saying how I've changed anymore.'

As a result of this, he said he's done talking about it.

'I've done it several times, I've talked about it. I am just done.'

It seems like Hart is fed up explaining himself.

'I'm a good person. If you don't see that, it's a problem with you.'

Above all, the comedian believes he, 'shouldn't have to prove who [he is], [he] shouldn't have to prove the levels of love that [he is] capable of giving.'

Even more, he addressed the online trolls:

'If anybody out there wants to think that Kevin Hart is such a monster that he wouldn't love someone because of their choice in life, then all power to 'em.'

Oscars

Kevin confirms in the interview that he won't host the Oscars.

'I don't have the time.'

The star has two weeks to prep but with his busy schedule, it's impossible.

Consequently, he chose not to present at this years ceremony.

It seems he's quite the perfectionist:

'I would want to make sure the production is a great representation of me and my talent.'

For that reason, he said, 'I can't do it this year, it's not going to happen, in the future if it does it does but it's not the conversation of today.'

What Happened?

Hart was asked by the Academy to host the awards in December.

After he announced the news, he faced backlash online over past homophobic tweets he had written which had resurfaced.

Rather than apologise, he decided to pull out altogether.

He said he had already apologised for those tweets in the past and had moved on.

Kevin feels he doesn't need to apologise for something he had already addressed in the past.

Perhaps one day he might host the ceremony.
