Gardaí investigating the murder of Ian Walsh in county Tipperary have arrested a man in his late teens.
The 49-year-old former Irish Rail employee was found with stab wounds at his home in Carrick-on-Suir in the early hours of the 4th of August.
Gardaí arrested the man this morning for questioning in relation to the investigation.
He can be held for 24 hours before being charged or released.
The investigation into the death of Ian Walsh was upgraded to murder almost two weeks ago after Gardaí received the results of a post mortem examination.
Gardaí found Ian Walsh’s body at his home on Cregg road after concerns were raised for his welfare.
It’s understood the Waterford native- who was last seen on the evening of the 1st of August- may have known his killer as there was no sign of forced entry at his home.
