Road Deaths

It's the 155th person to have died on Ireland's roads so far this year.

That's 36 more than the same time last year.

Road deaths since the beginning of this year are now equal with all of 2022.

Junior Transport Minister Jack Chambers has said that this weekend is one of the most dangerous on Ireland's roads.

He said that An Garda Síochána will be "really focused" this weekend on "lifesaver" offences.
