A man has died following a St Patrick's Day assault in Limerick.
Three men in their 20s are already before the courts in relation to the incident.
At around 10:20pm on March 17th, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a man injured in an assault on Athlunkard Street in the city.
A man in his 50s was brought to University Hospital Limerick in a serious condition.
A number of arrests were made in the time that followed and charges were brought against those allegedly involved.
Gardaí have now confirmed that the victim died in hospital yesterday evening.
A post-mortem exam is due to be carried out today.
The office of the Coroner, and the State Pathologist have been notified.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
