A clean-up operation is underway in Tralee in County Kerry, after torrential downpours yesterday evening.

Homes and businesses were flooded in the town, with reports of manhole covers popping up with water gushing down streets.

People had to be evacuated from the cinema, while it's reported the supermarket shut due to its roof partially collapsing.

Two lifeguards were also injured during lightning on Banna Beach.

More rain is on the way, with a status yellow thunderstorm warning in place for 19 counties - including all of Munster - until 10 o'clock tonight.
