Bomb Squad Called To Trump Hotel in Clare

Emergency services were called to an incident at Donald Trump's hotel in County Clare yesterday evening.

An investigation was launched after a suspicious package was discovered at the Doonbeg golf resort shortly after 5pm.

The Defence Forces' explosive ordnance disposal team was deployed, and the package was subsequently deemed safe.

The incident occurred just 12 hours after President Trump’s son Eric left the hotel after a brief visit.

Gardaí attended the scene along with units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service and the National Ambulance Service.

In a statement to SPIN, Gardaí said, "Gardaí were alerted to a suspicious package at a premises in West Clare earlier this evening, Wednesday 21st January 2026.

A cordon was put in place around the area and the services of the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team requested.

The package was subsequently deemed safe and the cordon has been lifted.

Investigations are ongoing.
