Leaving Cert students can breath a sign of relief - it appears clarity has finally been given to the exams.
Students will have the option of a calculated grade or a written exam in each subject.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Education has signed off on the proposals after hours of talks on how the exams should progress.
We'll have more details when the Education Minister Norma Foley makes an official announcement later.

Meanwhile the Junior Cert exams have been cancelled for 2021.

Meanwhile, sixth year students have taken to social media to react to the news.
One Twitter user said she "could cry" with relief on hearing the announcement.
