Covid-19: 23 Additional Deaths And 921 New Cases

The Department of Health has been notified of 23 deaths related to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

21 of those deaths occurred this month and 2 took place in January.

The median age of those who died is 84, with the age range between 57 and 95.

Meanwhile, the Department has also been notified of 921 new cases of the virus.

453 of today's cases are identified in men while 466 are in women.

Most people -66% - are under 45 years of age.

The median age is 34 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there are 414 new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 87 in Cork, 51 in Kildare, 48 in Limerick and 47 in Meath.

The remaining 274 cases are spread across all other counties.

Meanwhile, there have been 53 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 959 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 173 of whom are in intensive care.

The 14 Day incident rate is estimated to be 292.8 cases per 100,000 population.
