A 15-Year-Old Has Beaten Venus Williams At Wimbledon

At 15 years old, most teenagers are spending summer at the beach or binge watching Netflix, But teen tennis player Cori “Coco” Gauff had another ide.

Yesterday, Gauff defeated opponent Venus Williams in the opening round of Wimbledon, earning her not only a win, but a history-making one. The tennis prodigy took on Williams in a first-round match at the Wimbleton Yesterday, winning 6-4, 6-4.

This was Cori’s first grand-slam debut. Speaking to the Guardian after the match she said; 

“Honestly, I don’t really know how to feel,This was definitely the first time I ever cried after winning a match. I don’t even know how to explain how I feel. I had to tell myself to stay calm. I’d never played on a court so big; I had to remind myself that the lines are the same size.”
