Former president Michael D Higgins will also appear as a special guest with filmmaker Myles O'Reilly.
“We wanted to launch our 50th Anniversary activities with a really special night,” Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said.
“And that’s exactly what our History In The Making concert will be. The support from artists and musicians has been absolutely wonderful – and the extraordinary talent that will gather at 3Arena on the night reflects that. It is a phenomenal bill and the perfect way for music fans, and fans of Irish music in particular, to begin their musical adventures for 2026.”
Today’s announcement adds a whole new element into what is beginning to look like one of the gigs of the century so far!
“It's important that we reflect the wider cultural dimension, which is a really vital part of what Hot Press has been about over the years,” Stokes added.
“We have Michael D. Higgins, who was a Hot Press columnist for 10 years, before he became President of Ireland, as a special guest, performing with Myles O’Reilly – and it is brilliant to be able now to announce artists like Tommy Tiernan, Emmett Kirwan and Laura Murphy – who reflect different aspects of what has been special about Irish culture during the lifetime of the magazine.
“In addition, to have the brilliant new breed of Irish comedians represented by Emma Doran, Rachel Galvo and Tony Cantwell on board will ensure that there’ll be lots of laughs to be had as well. It really is going to be an extraordinary night. The excitement is mounting. We’re looking forward to every minute of it!”
History In The Making: The Concert takes place next Friday, February 6th.
