Movember is on the way!
You might know Movember as the month all about moustaches, but it's about more than that. It's about conversations that save lives and changing men's health for the better.
We've all got dads, brothers, partners and mates we adore. But still, there are too many lads dying too young from things we can prevent. That includes mental health issues like loneliness and suicide, or cancers like prostate and testicular.
It's not just a men's issue, it's a human one.
Because we all have men in our lives that we love. Since 2003, Movember has funded over 1,300 projects around the world, from cutting-edge cancer research to grassroots mental health programs.
Even here in Ireland, there's been a massive impact. Over 10,000 young players, parents and coaches around the country have built mental fitness and resilience on and off the pitch in clubs around the country by taking part in Movember Ahead of the Game.
On top of that, €2.5million has been invested with UCD in prostate cancer research. It improves their care, treatment and quality of life.

How can I get involved?
For Movember, you can make a real difference to men's health in Ireland while still having fun.
Of course, you can grow a moustache but that's not the only way to take part. You could walk 60k in a fun costume from Tipp to Cork, for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour.
You can always get your mates involved as well. It's about having the craic but with a purpose. See who's able to grow the best – or worst! – moustache. Who can last the longest in a Mo Your Own Way challenge? You can even host a 'Mo-ment.'
There are plenty of ways to get involved. Choose yours, rally your crew, and have some fun while doing good for men’s health.
- Grow a Moustache – Grow it loud, grow it proud.
- Move for Mental Health – 60km for the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour. Do it solo or with your mates.
- Host a Moment – From the pub to the pitch, rally your crew for a good cause.
- Mo Your Own Way – From football challenges to epic adventures, however you do it counts.
- Donate – Not growing? Chip in what you can. Every Euro makes a difference.
