Amy Schumer shares banned Oscars joke

During a recent comedy gig, Amy Schumer shared the jokes she was banned from telling at the Oscars.

Now, she's facing major backlash for a joke that takes aim at Alec Baldwin and the tragic Rust shooting.

According to Vanity Fair, Amy began her Oscars chat by referring to Will Smith as professional boxer Muhammad Ali.

She was, of course, talking about the controversial moment in which Will stormed on stage and slapped Chris Rock.

"I was kind of feeling myself… and then all of a sudden, Ali was making his way up," she told the audience.

"And it was just a fu**ing bummer. All I can say is that it was really sad, and I think it says so much about toxic masculinity."

"It was really upsetting, but I think the best way to comfort ourselves would be for me to say the Oscar jokes that I wasn’t allowed to say on TV."

Before sharing her jokes, Amy told the audience her lawyer had warned her against it.

She then poked fun at Joe Rogan, recent allegations made about James Franco, and the tragic Rust shooting.

The latter of which caused serious controversy online, with many criticising Amy for telling such a, 'tasteless,' joke.

As quoted by Vanity Fair, she said, "Don’t Look Up is the name of a movie? More like don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun."

Amy added, "I wasn’t allowed to say any of that [at the Oscars], but you can just come up and [slap] someone."
