The new film will continue the story following the events of Dune: Part Two, which saw Paul unite with the Fremen people of Arrakis and fall in love with warrior Chani, played by Zendaya. After defeating the Harkonnen forces, Paul launches a holy war across the galaxy.
Returning cast members include Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck and Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho. Anya Taylor‑Joy is also expected to return as Alia.
A major new addition to the cast is Robert Pattinson, who will play the villain Scytale.
The film will adapt Dune Messiah, the second novel in Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi series.
The previous film, Dune: Part Two, was a major success, earning more than $714 million worldwide and winning two awards at the Academy Awards. Composer Hans Zimmer has already confirmed he is working on music for the trilogy’s finale.
