The dismissal of a terror charge against Kneecap's Mo Chara is going before the courts today.
UK prosecutors are appealing the decision by a judge back in September to dismiss a terror charge against the Belfast rapper.
Last May, Mo Chara - who’s real name is Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh - was charged with a terror offence by police in London for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at one of Kneecap’s gigs in November 2024.
However, the case collapsed last September over a technicality.
The magistrate ruled the charge should have been brought, with permission from the Attorney General, within six months of the alleged offence taking place.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service argues permission was not needed until the first court appearance - and is appealing the dismissal before the Royal Courts of Justice today.

In a defiant statement in advance of the appeal, Kneecap have described it as further “political policing” and an attempt to silence those who speak up about Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
