The new national minimum wage comes into effect on New Year's Day.
The 5 per cent pay increase will see workers take home up to 25 euro, based on a 39 hour working week.
The increase is payable to most workers over the age of 20, bringing them to an average income of over 28 thousand euro a year.
The increase is worth 65 cent an hour.
It coincides with the Governments auto enrollment pension scheme, which also takes effect on the 1st of January.
