A Dublin Bus caught fire on the M50 last night.

No injuries have been reported despite the sudden flames.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Junction 15 Carrickmines northbound at about a quarter to 8 last night.

All lanes were affected while smoke also made visibility difficult.

Four fire engines were called to the scene and diversions were put in place while Dublin Fire Service battled the blaze - but the motorway has since fully reopened.

A Garda Spokesperson said:

"Gardaí and fire services attended the scene of an incident on the M50 northbound near Junction 15 in Carrickmines, Dublin at around 7.45pm this evening.

Fire services dealt with a bus that had caught fire.

The road has since re-opened. No serious injuries have been reported at this time."
