There's a call for the government to reverse the decision to reintroduce fees for Junior and Leaving Certificate exams.
The costs of 109 euro for the Junior Cycle and 116 euro for the Leaving Certificate were waived in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The measure has been reinstated this year, with payment now due for this summer's exams.
Payment opened yesterday, and will close on April 30th.
Sinn Fein TD for Meath East, Darren O’Rourke says there should be a U-turn on the decision, for this year at least.
He says the fees are adding to the financial strain families are already facing.
