It looks like the weather will be mixed for the next couple of days but is set to clear heading into the long weekend which is exactly what we want to hear!!

According to Met Eireann, today's weather will gradually brighten up with some sunny spells. A few light showers may develop in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with light east to southeast breezes, coolest along the south coast and mildest in the Co. Clare.

''Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells. Patches of mist and fog will develop in many areas and there may be a little drizzle along the southwest coast. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees.''

Tomorrow is looking much better according to the forecaster:

'' Tomorrow will be mild and dry with sunny spells developing after mist and fog clear. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees with moderate southeast breezes, coolest along the south coast and mildest in Co. Clare.

'' Thursday will be dry with good sunny spells developing after any mist or fog clear. Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees along east facing coasts, but reaching between 15 and 18 degrees elsewhere, warmest in the west with moderate east to southeast breezes. ''

And Friday is where the real good weather is arriving with temperatures forecast to hit 20 degrees in places.

To say we're excited for the long weekend is an understatement!
