A red weather warning has been issued for County Clare as Storm Hannah moves in.

Met Eireann says violent gusts of up to 150 kilometres an hour are expected in the county from 8 o'clock tonight.

An orange warning comes into effect this afternoon for Kerry, Limerick and Cork - which will be extended to Galway, Tipperary and Waterford later this evening.

A yellow alert has also been issued from 11pm for counties in the west, north-west and south east.

Storm Hannah is expected to pass over the country from West to East and should have subsided by 10 am tomorrow morning.
