Mark Zuckerberg Outlines Facebook's Future On Regulation

Regulation the main focus now says Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg says governments and regulators need to have "a more active role" over the rules.

In The Sunday Independent he highlights four areas - harmful content, election integrity, privacy and how data is shared.

He also confirmed the firm's creating an independent body so people can appeal Facebook's decisions on issues related to speech and harmful content.

In his article, the 34-year-old billionaire acknowledges that Facebook has a role to play in addressing the issues.

However, he observes: "People shouldn’t have to rely on individual companies addressing these issues by themselves.
