It comes amid calls for predicted grades to be implemented in 2022.

The uncertainty surrounding this year Leaving Cert exams is having a profound affect on the mental health of students.

That's according to Gary Gannon, who's a TD with the Social Democrats.

The party's calling on Education Minister, Norma Foley, to make a decision on this years exams.

They say it will help reduce anxiety levels among students.

Gary Gannon, who's education spokesperson for his party, says the minister must make her plans clear.

In his view the traditional Leaving Certificate won't go ahead in its traditional form this year.

He wants Norma Foley and the Department of Education to make a call as soon as possible.
