Tomorrow the government will deliver the forthcoming Budget.

A number of major changes are expected ahead of Budget 2022 on Tuesday.

One of those is an increase to the student grant, which will see its first raise in over 10 years.

That's good news for those who are at college relying on the student grant for expenses.

Political correspondent Seán Defoe also reports cigarettes are expected to rise.

The price of cigarettes has seen a steady increase over the past several years, so it won't be a surprise.

Some of the other rumoured changes include an increase and expansion of the fuel allowance.

There will be a change in tax bands too, with 100 million euro being kept in a pod to freeze childcare costs.

The proposed changes have received mixed reviews from the opposition parties.

Sinn Féin TD Kathleen Funchion says childcare costs should be reduced, not just frozen.
