Free Now launch 'Healthcare Heroes' initiative
Taxi app Free Now have announced they're offering 50% off for all healthcare workers.
They've created the 'Medical' booking option in a bid to show their support to the 'Healthcare Heroes' during this pressing time.
Vital healthcare workers will have to select the new 'Medical' option on the app to avail of the offer.
They'll then need to show their medical ID to drivers at the start of their trip.
The offer will be made available from mid-morning today.

It extends to all front-line medical practitioners and supporting healthcare workers.
As well as those in primary care services, including porters, cleaners and hospital receptionists.
The decision comes after an overwhelming 87% of Free Now drivers across Ireland said they wanted to directly support healthcare staff.
Cleaner cars
In a recent Free Now survey, drivers highlighted some of the precautions they're taking to ensure their cars remain clean.
These include providing passengers with tissues and keeping the windows slightly open.
They'll also clean their car after every trip - this includes wiping down door handles and seats.
In addition, the drivers will only accept card or app payments to limit the use of cash.

General Manager of Free Now Ireland, Alan Fox commented on the new initiative:

'We are now looking at new ways to adapt the fleet of 14,000 taxis to meet the COVID-19 challenge across Ireland.'
'This new initiative will support the movement of vital healthcare workers performing critical duties.'

'We are already working with the HSE as an approved transport supplier to aid its critical work.'

The company are offering a similar service in Spain, Poland, Romania and the UK.
The 'Healthcare Heroes' booking option will run in the Free Now app for the foreseeable future.
