A further 27 People Have Died With Covid-19 In The Republic

27 more people have lost their lives in the Republic after getting Covid-19.

It brings the death toll to 1,429.

156 new cases have been detected in the past 24 hours, with the total standing at 22,541 confirmed cases in this country.

Latest figures show over 270,000 people with the virus have died, while 3.8 million have been infected worldwide.

3.87 million people have been infected with the virus, and 270,000 have died.

The US dominates with 1.25 million cases and over 75,000 deaths, followed by the UK with over 30,000 fatalities.

A further 332 people in England have died, 49 in Scotland, 5 in Northern Ireland, and 28 in Wales, where people will be allowed out to exercise more than once, and garden centres can re-open from Monday.

In Norway, where there have been 217 deaths, the maximum number of people allowed to meet together has been increased from five to 20 but they must keep 1 metre apart.

In Ireland the death toll stands at 1,429, with 22,541 cases.
