10 More People Die From Covid-19 In Ireland Bringing Total To 19

Increase in deaths

The number of Covid-19 related deaths here has more than doubled in 24 hours.

Ten more people diagnosed with the virus have died, bringing the death toll to 19.

There have also been a further 255 confirmed cases, meaning there are now 1,819 cases recorded.

Research done on behalf of the Department of Health shows that while 35% of people are worried about their personal health, 77% of people are worried about the health of their family and friends.

A nationally representative online survey of 1270 adults conducted reveals:

66% say they are coughing into their elbow.

81% say they physically distance when in a queue.

65% worried about the economy.

32% worried about their employment status.

The National Public Health Emergency Team also meets this morning, with health officials very concerned about increases in ICU admissions, clusters of nursing home cases, and the spread of the virus among health workers.
