Covid-19: 720 New Cases And Five Additional Deaths

The Department of Health have confirmed 720 new cases of Covid-19 and five additional deaths.

Of the cases notified today, 371 were women while 348 were men.

Most patients - 65% - are under the age of 45, with 32 being the median age.

Dublin is home to the highest number of cases with 228 in the capital.

Meanwhile there are 130 cases in Cork, 47 in Galway, 31 in Meath, 27 in Limerick while the remaining 257 cases are distributed throughout 20 other counties.

341 People With Covid Being Treated In Hospital

There have been 29 new hospitalisations in the last 24 hours.

In total 341 people are being treated with the virus in hospitals today, 38 of which are in intensive care.

Elsewhere, 722 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.

There have also been 13 additional deaths reported by the Department of Health there.
