A man was questioned by Gardaí in county Limerick in connection to the alleged online harrassment of a county councillor.

Independent Councillor in Limerick Elisa O'Donovan tweeted to say she is grateful for the Gardaí's work.

The Limerick politician says she received "unsolicited sexual images" last month.

The man in his late 30s was arrested by officers yesterday.

He's since been released without charge, while a file will be prepared for the DPP.

The public representative says she's hopeful a message is sent to people that cyber flashing is sexual harrassment.
