HSE has launched a major recruitment drive to deal with coronavirus

The HSE is looking for anyone who wants to help during the coronavirus crisis to apply.

It has launched a major recruitment drive for anyone who wants to be 'on call for Ireland'.

They will look for frontline healthcare professionals, admin and support staff as well as nursing students to help deal with the impact of the virus.

"We are asking all healthcare professionals from all disciplines who are not already working in the public health service to register to be on call for Ireland," the HSE said in a statement.

"We will be creating extra hospital and care beds and will need extra hands to provide the care that’s needed.

"We need your help to meet the challenge that’s ahead."

It's not just healthcare staff they are looking for, however.

In addition to nurses and doctors, the HSE is asking anyone with a variety of skills to get in touch.

"Maybe you aren’t a healthcare professional, maybe you’re studying to be one, or maybe you have other skills to offer or just want to volunteer to do your bit if needed," they said.

Anyone who wants to be 'on call for Ireland' can apply here.
