Camogie Club Championship Team of the Year and Player of the Year Nominees

Today,  the Camogie Association and AIB have announced the AIB Camogie Club Championship Team of the Year.

The team feature six players from Sarsfields, six players from Slaughtneil, two players from Scariff-Ogonelloe and one player from St. Vincents.

Provincial Players of the Year, One Player From Each Province

  • Aoife Ní Chaiside of Slaughtneil representing Ulster
  • Niamh Hetherton of St. Vincents representing Leinster
  • Mairéad Scanlan of Scariff-Ogonelloe representing Munster
  • Siobhán McGrath of Sarsfields representing Connacht

They are now in the running for the AIB Camogie Club Player of the Year Award with the winner announced on Friday, April 3rd on AIB GAA social channels.

The four Provincial Players of the Year were chosen from the overall Team of the Year.

Maolmuire Tynan, Head of Public Affairs AIB, said:

"It is an honour for AIB to be associated with the All-Ireland Camogie Club Championships. All of us involved with sport feel the absence of live games but it is very important to have matches to recall and enjoy those feats of skill, determination and resilience."

While the Covid-19 pandemic has prevented a ceremony to celebrate the announcement, AIB and the Camogie Association would still like to acknowledge the incredible talent and hard work these players have put in throughout the season.

As a result, all 15 players will be awarded with hand crafted trophies created by renowned sculptor Jarlath Daly.
