Fake scenes on The Hills

Whitney Port has been speaking to Vogue about her time on The Hills.

It comes as no surprise that scenes on the show were faked.

However, Whitney has now revealed the big Paris internship storyline was entirely made up.

Speaking to the magazine she said, 'That was so ridiculous.'

'It wasn't an ideal situation, but I thought, okay, this is good for me because I really was pursuing a career in fashion.'

'I thought it showed that I was down and determined to do this. It was very Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs. I got dressed up in an airport look and went for it.'

One of the show's most iconic lines was fake

Whitney also revealed that one of the show's most iconic lines was also faked.

When Lauren Conrad turns down the Paris internship, meaning Whitney will go in her place, Lauren's boss Lisa says 'She'll always be known as the girl who didn't go to Paris.'

But now it's been revealed that Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour originally spoke the line.

Lisa explained to Vogue, 'Anna asked me what happened with 'the girl who didn't go to Paris', and the next time I saw Lauren, I just said it. The writers ran with it.'

If that wasn't enough to shred your noughties TV dreams, that closet where Whitney and Lauren worked? Also fake!

It was created specifically for the show by Condé Nast and MTV producers.

The Paris internship

In case you don't remember, the Paris internship was a big storyline on season 1 of The Hills.

Whitney and Lauren competed at Teen Vogue for a place on a summer trip to Paris.

Their boss Lisa eventually offered the position to Lauren.

However, she turned it down to stay with boyfriend Jason.

This didn't go down well with Teen Vogue and Lauren got herself the nickname of 'the girl who didn't go to Paris'.

The TV show made it look as though Whitney went in her place.

There was even a follow up episode with Whitney claiming, 'Paris was amazing.'

But now we know it was all fake!

The Hills is getting a reboot

Whiney Port appeared in Vogue to discuss The Hills: New Beginnings.

The new show will follow the lives of lots of our faves: Heidi Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Justin (Bobby) Brescia, Jason Wahler and Whitney.
