Riverdale writers room hit back

The Riverdale writers room have hit back at Mr. Chipping actor Sam Witwer for criticising the show's writing.

In a recent interview Sam said he doesn't believe the show's writers think before they put pen to paper.

His comments annoyed them so much that they took to Twitter to lash back.

***Season four, episode six spoilers***

Sam's character Mr. Chipping was killed off the show when he randomly chose to throw himself out a window.

Speaking with io9, the actor said of his character's fate, 'As for why that character jumps out a window, I have no idea.'

'But I read the script and laughed. I was like, ‘Right, of course. Of course he does.’'

He added, 'I’d love to say I had deep thoughts about the whole thing, but I don’t think that’s really the way they work over there.'

Sam claimed there was a lack of communication on the set of Riverdale, 'Any questions I had went, I’m sorry, sadly unanswered.'

The actor admitted, 'I was a little bit relieved when I saw my character jumping out the window.'

He went on, 'I don’t have to wonder anymore whether I’m being made to look like a—,' he stopped himself.

Sam continued, 'Maybe I’m just not a good enough actor, but I can’t do my job if I don’t know what’s going on.'

The writers room hit back

The Riverdale writers room were less than impressed with Sam's interview.

So they took to Twitter to hit back, 'Mystery Solved: It’s because everyone wanted to PUSH you out the window, Sam.'

They finished, 'Stay classy and safe.'

Ouch!
