Entertainment Weekly have released an exclusive first excerpt from the prequel book.

From this, we learn evil Coriolanus Snow will play the protagonist in the movie.

In The Hunger Games films, Snow played the president of Panem.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will show him as a young boy in his last year at the Academy.

His final project is to mentor somebody from one of the 12 districts.

Snow's lead to believe he'll get a student from district one or two.

However, the tables turn for him when he's appointed a member of district 12.

'...To his horror, he heard Dean Highbottom mumble, 'And last but least, District Twelve girl… she belongs to Coriolanus Snow.''

If you're a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy then you'll remember Katniss Ecerdeen came from that same district.

Perhaps Snow's student is in someway connected to the trilogy's protagonist.

However, it's important to note the movie may not follow the book's exact story-line.
