Some sad news from Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola have announced their iconic Christmas Truck Tour won't go ahead this year.

They've had to cancel it due to coronavirus restrictions.

Coca-Cola released the following statement on social media:

'Due to current restrictions around the country, our Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour won’t go ahead this year.'

'We know it's disappointing, but we’ll continue to share special Christmas moments throughout the festive season.'

'We look forward to seeing you next year!'

The reaction

Fans of the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour have been expressing their disappointment in the comments section.

One Twitter user shared a picture of her merchandise collection.

The drink company replied, 'Sadly, we don't have any goodies we're able to give away at the moment.'

'We have plenty more surprises coming to make this Christmas just as special though.'

Another Twitter user wrote, 'I understand that the tour can't go ahead but you could still send the truck out to drive around and lift some spirits, you don't see the truck stopping in the ad but you do see the smiles and excitement in people when it drives by.'

'If you like this idea I'll drive it in cork'

Coca-Cola replied, 'Unfortunately the truck won't be touring at all this year, but we do have lots of additional festive treats in store.'

'We hope to see you there in 2021'

In some good festive news, McDonald's have just released their brand new Christmas menu.
