Dermot Kennedy announcement

Irish artist Dermot Kennedy has added an extra date for St. Anne's Park next summer.

His June 4th show has sold out, so he'll now play June 12th as well.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am.

Dermot shared his excitement with fans on social media following the announcement.

He said, 'I can’t express how excited I am to play shows for you all again next year!!'

'Tickets go on sale this Friday 11 December at 9am local time! Thank you! X'

Once he's finished his St. Anne's Park shows, he'll move on to play three sold out gigs at Gleneagle INEC Arena, Killarney.

He'll start to wrap up the string of events at Malahide Castle on June 25th.

And his final show will be June 26th at Irish Independent Park, Cork.

Just this week, Dermot took the number one slot in both the Official Irish Singles and Album chart, with Giants and Without Fear.

He became the first Irish artist in modern chart history to replace themselves at number one.

And he's the first solo artist to have a single and an album at number one at the same time.

Dermot took to Instagram to express his gratitude.

He wrote, 'I will forever be so proud to be an Irish songwriter.'

'I carry that pride and identity with me whenever I travel anywhere.'

'I will always do my very best to represent our country and our long standing history of artists and songwriters punching above their weight.'

'Thank you for another beautiful moment on this journey.'

Dermot concluded, 'Grá mór X'

Tickets for St. Anne's Park cost €49.90 and are available here on Friday, December 11th at 9am.
