Ellie Goulding has announced she's pregnant.
She and her husband, Caspar Jopling, are expecting their first child together.

The singer showed off her baby bump in a photoshoot for Vogue.
In the accompanying interview, Ellie revealed she found out she was expecting last August.
It happened around the time she and her husband, Caspar Jopling, were celebrating their one year anniversary.

The Hate Me artist had just performed at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
She recalled, 'We did the one show. I was pregnant and had no idea.'
'That was [around] the time when [Caspar and I] went away briefly when we were allowed to for our one-year anniversary, and that’s basically when we found out.'

'It was crazy because it was our one-year anniversary. That was not the plan.'
'The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality.'
'Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human,' Ellie said.

She continued, 'I want a better word than womanly, [but] - I have curves I’ve never had before.'
'I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.'

She admitted, 'It happens really quickly, and then you almost don’t believe it at first.'
'You’re still eating the same, looking the same, for a while I was probably in denial.'
'I was in such a good streak of fitness.'

But that changed very quickly, and suddenly all she wanted was sugar and carbs.
Ellie explained, 'I started having a completely different body and different energy, I couldn’t deal with everything!'

Gender
Ellie told Vogue that she has no interest in hosting a gender reveal event.
She said, 'It’s not a focus for me. We found out by default because we had a scan.'
'[But,] it wasn’t a thing. We just wanted a healthy baby and there wasn’t much more to it.'

'Instinctively, the whole gender reveal is not my thing,' the artist confessed.
'I'm excited to be a mother,' Ellie continued, 'but also I want to make sure that I continue to work.'
'I can’t wait to go back on tour. I’ve been in the studio most days, [and] I’m excited for the challenge.'

Ellie took to Instagram after the announcement had been made to thank her followers for all their love and support.
