Jimmy Fallon Apologises For Wearing Blackface In Old SNL Impersonation Of Chris Rock

Jimmy Fallon issues apology

Jimmy Fallon has issued an apology after an old video of him wearing blackface on Saturday Night Live emerged online.

In the clip, the late night talk show host does an impression of comedian Chris Rock.

When the video circulated online this week, #JimmyFallonIsOverParty started trending on Twitter.

Many took to social media demanding the host apologise for his actions.

One user wrote, 'before you try and defend him and even if it was years ago, he still has yet to address it/apologize for it'

The apology

Fallon released an apology shortly after the hashtag started trending.

He wrote, 'In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface.'

'There is no excuse for this,' Fallon confessed.

'I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.'
