Jared Leto denies sending dead rat to Margot Robbie
Jared Leto became known for sending strange items to his co-stars on set of the 2016 Suicide Squad movie.
In a new interview with GQ, he shut down reports he sent Margot Robbie a dead rat.
The rat was very much alive.

Jared and Margot played the Joker and Harley Quinn in the DC movie.
In order to really get into character, he sent his co-stars some awful gifts - gifts that only the Joker himself would send.
For example, Viola Davis told Vanity Fair that he had a henchman deliver a dead pig to rehearsals.

"That was our introduction into Jared Leto. Now I'm terrified just as a person thinking, 'Is he crazy?'"
"But the second part was, 'Oh s**t, I gotta have my stuff together."'
"And then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat!" She recalled.

"It was still alive. In a box. She screamed. And then she kept it," Viola laughed.
Margot spoke about it during an interview with Jimmy Fallon at the time.
As quoted by GQ, she said, "At first I thought this was disgusting."

She continued, "But then after that... I was like, I'm not going to kill him. So I ended up keeping him as a pet."
"I ended up getting him like a sweet little playpen, a slide, a hammock, and a leash because I wanted to take him to set and walk him around... But then our landlord at the place I was staying found out."
Rumours spread
Rumours quickly spread online that the rat Jared gifted Margot was actually dead.
In a new interview with GQ, Jared shut down these rumours.
He said, "I never gave Margot Robbie a dead rat, that's not true."

"I actually gave her a lot of… I found this place in Toronto that had a great vegan cinnamon bun… so that was a very common thing."
"It's funny how all this stuff takes on a life of its own."
