David Schwimmer & Jennifer Aniston

In 1994, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer met for the first time on the set of Friends.

They played iconic on screen lovers Ross and Rachel in the show for 10 years.

And little did viewers know, that chemistry was very real.

***Friends reunion spoilers***

The Friends reunion special, marking 17 years since the final episode aired, landed on NOW last night.

If you watched it, then you'll know Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer admitted they had feelings for each other on set.

So it turns out all that chemistry we've been seeing on screen was very real.

"The first season, I had a major crush on Jen," David admitted.

"At some point we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship."

"And we never crossed that boundary. You know, we respected that…"

The gang broke out laughing when Joey actor Matt LeBlanc chimed in, "Bulls**t."

Jennifer continued, "Honestly, and I remember saying one time to David, 'It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.'"

The actress went on, "Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop."

"But we just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."

If you're a big Friends fan, you'll remember Ross and Rachel's first kiss took place at Central Perk in season two.

The first kiss

The episode is titled The One Where Ross Finds Out and it's fairly self explanatory.

He had been crushing on Rachel since they went to school together all those years ago.

So he was shocked to hear she had feelings for him now too.

There was only one issue, he was in a happy relationship with the fabulous Julie.

Angry, frustrated and confused, he stormed into Central Perk and gave out to Rachel for her terrible timing.

After they had a yelling match, he stormed out and she locked the doors.

As we watched her break down in tears in the coffee shop, Ross appeared back at the door.

After a bit of a struggle with the lock, she opened the door and welcomed him in.

And then, they kissed.

The other cast members knew

During the reunion, David revealed they would constantly, "cuddle on the couch," in Monica's apartment.

He questioned how nobody knew they were crushing on each other from that alone.

But the gang admitted there and then that they all knew.

Courteney told Jennifer and David that she watched their first kiss scene the other day and she actually cried.

"The tension... it was just palpable."

She complimented, "It was just perfect."

On their chemistry, David remembered, "It was a situation that... we couldn't do anything about it."

Courteney replied, "How great though ultimately because if you had and it didn't work out, it [probably wouldn't have] been as great."

The Friends reunion special is streaming on NOW.
