Jamie Dornan is heading to Middle-earth.
The Belfast-born actor has been cast as Aragorn in the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, a new prequel from Warner Bros set between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.
Dornan joins a stacked cast including Ian McKellen returning as Gandalf and Elijah Wood as Frodo, while Andy Serkis directs and reprises his iconic role as Gollum.

The role of Aragorn was famously played by Viggo Mortensen in the original trilogy, making Dornan’s casting a major moment for fans of the franchise.
The film is set to hit cinemas in December 2027.
