A cult favourite of the Dublin nightlife scene has announced it has "held its last dance".

Yesterday city centre club Tramline posted online that due to the strains of the pandemic and the rising cost of living it is closing its doors for good.

Tramline became well known for its live music and DJ acts over the last seven years.

In the post, Tramline also thanked "Give Us the Night" for their campaigning to implement change at Government level. They added that outdated licensing laws are one of the reasons so many Irish nightlife venues have shut up shop over the last few years.

Since the pandemic a number of bars and clubs have been forced to close. Including The Globe Bar and Ri Ra night club, the Virgin Mary Bar and The Clock on Thomas Street.
