Budget 2027 was announced today.
The Money Ministers have committed an extra €7.1 billion in spending.
But how does it impact you?
Student fees
There will be a permanent €150 reduction to the student contribution fee.
Enhanced and new student contribution fee grants will be provided for families who have more than one child attending higher education.
The SUSI maintenance grant will also rise by 4.5% from January.
The Minister for Public Expenditure, Jack Chambers said: "Overall these measures will benefit more than 150,000 students and their families."
Education
€56 million euro will be given to fund 2,339 additional SNA's in 2027.
It will also go towards funding an extra 1,353 teachers.
Minimum wage
The minimum wage will increase by 79 cent, to €14.94.
It will come into effect on the 1st of January 2027.
Cigarettes & vapes
A packet of 20 cigarettes will increase by €1. This could be the first time a packet will cost more then €20.
The cost of vapes will also go up, as the duty on e-liquid products has been raised by 20 cents per milliliter.
EVs
The Vehicle Registration Tax relief on electric vehicles is being extended until the end of 2028.
Currently, consumers can claim up to €5,000 back depending on a number of factors.
However, the VRT rate on high polluting cars in certain bands is increasing by 1%.
Housing
€2.2billion will go towards supporting social housing needs of 110,000 homes through the Housing Assistance, Rental Accommodation and Social Housing schemes.
Under the Starter Homes Programme, over €1billion will be given towards starter homes through different supports, including the Help to Buy initiative.
Rent
The renters tax credit will increase by €150 to €1,150.
It will go up by €300 to €2,300 for a couple.
Transport
The Government is allocating an extra €6billion in funding resources until 2030 to progress the Metrolink project.
Funding will go towards investment in the DART+, BusConnects and the Cork Area Commuter Rail programmes.
It will also help major projects such as the Adare Bypass, the Galway Ring Road and the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy.
Health
€1.6 billion has been allocated towards health.
The free contraception scheme will be extended, so those aged up to 37 can avail of it.
There will be an increase in the HSE pay budget.
The Government will also reform GP services, including better access to out-of-hours services.
Resourcing will be increased for early intervention, crisis supports and new ADHD pathways in CAMHS.
Childcare
Parents could save more than €2,000 a year on childcare costs.
Childcare fees are to be capped at €550 a month for children up to senior infants, down from €735.
Sport
€4 million will be given towards league of Ireland academies.
There will be a €1 million increase to the Gaelic Players Association, and another €1million will go towards the hurling and camogie academy initiative.
Meanwhile, €22 million will go towards hosting the 2027 Ryder Cup and the 2028 Euros
