Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are to face trial in Romania, over a string of charges including rape, according to the BBC.

The Tate brothers were first arrested at their home in Bucharest in December.

In March, they were moved to house arrest following a ruling by a Romanian judge. Two other female suspects are also under house arrest.

Allegations facing them include rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

Both Tate brothers deny the claims.

The Case

According to the BBC, the four defendants are charged with creating an alleged organised criminal group in 2021.

The accusation, filed with the Bucharest court, lists seven victims who it claims were enlisted by the Tate brothers after the two men made promises of love and marriage.

According to a statement from Romanian authorities, the accused victims were then brought to Ilfov, Romania. Here they were allegedly intimidated, constantly supervised and coerced into debt.

The women were reportedly made to participate in pornography by the accused, which was subsequently posted on social media.

The BBC also report on separate charges which are still under investigation. These include money laundering and trafficking of minors.

The case will not go to trial immediately and may take several years.
