Job applicants should spend time to ensure their C-V is up-to-date, depending on the role which they're applying for.

That's according to a HR expert, after a new UK study found 87 percent of C-V's contained at least one mistake.

The analysis by Adzuna shows misspellings, missing information and inappropriate content were some of the most common errors.

Director of the HR Suite, Caroline Reidy, says re-using old CVs should be avoided also:

"Spend the extra couple of minutes to tweak your CV to suit the job you're applying for."

"Then make sure you proofread it, that grammatically it reads right, you've nothing in there that's a clanger."

Caroline recommends leaving out bits of information that aren't relevant or suitable for the job.
